How can I import a video into my computer?
I have a Sony 800x video camera and it also says Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar on the top. And when i plug it into my computer the icon for it doesn’t pop up and I don’t know what to do. Is there another way?
800x is not a Sony model number – that is the digital zoom range – and digital zoom should be disabled and never used. “Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar” is the lens manufacturer. The model number shoul d be on the bottom of the camcorder on a sticker near the tripod mount screw hole.
MiniDV requires a firewire cable connecting the camcorder’s DV port to the computer’s firewire port. If your computer has no computer port, hopefully it has an available expansion slot so you can add one. USB won’t work. Nothing will “pop up” launch MovieMaker and “Capture”.
