Nikomat Ftn
Nikomat FTn; which film is best?

I have a Nikomat FTn, and I need a suggestion on what type of film I should use.
Okay, let me elaborate from my previous explanation.

Yes, it’s a classic (I love it), and I want that distorted film texture without going to desperate measures. I don’t believe in Photoshop and all my photos are ‘you get what you see.’

Any suggestions?

A lot depends on what you are shooting and if you process your own black and white film.

Personally, I like the new Kodak Portra. ISO 160 NC (Natural Color) or 400NC and 160VC (Vivid Color) or 400VC. The skin tones on the NC versions are really good. I also shoot some Fujifilm PRO 400H (this is a hard to find film). I like Ilford XP2 Super 400 for C-41 processing black & white.
