Are Camo nights for high school sporting events degrading towards military personnel?
This year my school decided not to let the students have camo nights for any sporting events. They say that it is disrespectful to military personnel, but the students don’t take it that way. We really want camo nights especially for our huge rivals which are coming up this friday night. I am just very sad that we cannot have a camo night because of this claim. If there are any former military personnel out there or anyone who knows somebody in the military, I would love to hear your honest opinion on how if feels and if you believe it is degrading and disrespectful for a high school to wear camo and have a registered camo night.

Unless you’ve spent time in my great nation’s service you have no right to wear our colors. I served and wore the uniform for many years.
Wear some hunting camo and I’d be fine with it, military camo, and I’d rather have you prosecuted for impersonating a military officer.
We earned the unifrom we wear. Regardless of branch we went through the training and the heartache to be allowed to wear this uniform. WE EARNED IT.
I do now, and have always, found it a disgrace that people who have never served day one in my nations service are allowed to wear my Cammies, BDU’s or whatever.
Wear some hunting camo, I’m cool. Wear my uniform and I’ll fight you. I’ve done this job too long (too many uni changes) to be ‘ok’ with someone who has no idea what we do, wearing my uniform.
Camo events should only be allowed in pro-military parties. Wearing this uniform makes me a target to those who would take my countries freedom.
If you made this a pro military event, I’d be willing to let things slide. As just a normal HS event, not a chance. I’ve given this uniform to many years of my life to see a bunch of people, who have no clue, wearing it and giving others idea’s about it..
