Bushnell Telescopes have always been geared for the average person who might not have too much astronomy experience. With the Bushnell Northstar, we see the same thing. I think this would be the perfect telescope for someone who is just getting into astronomy.
The setup process is very simple. Once you have mounted the telescope on the tripod, all you have to do is lock in 2 stars in the sky. After you have locked in the 2 stars, the telescope will already be calibrated and ready to start the tour. The NorthStar Celestial Object Database holds over 20,000 different objects, all you have to is pick the one you would like to view and the telescope will do the rest. The RVO (Real Voice Output) will actually provide you with an audio tour as well, giving you the names of the stars and constellations as well as the mythological backgrounds for them.
My conclusion is, if you are just now getting into astronomy and looking for a great telescope, look no further, you’ve found it! For the price, you are getting a heck of a deal! The Bushnell Northstar Telescope get’s 2 thumbs up from Magnify Space.
