Coated Lenses

I think you must be familiar with the glasses, and then do you know something about the different kinds of lenses? Now let me introduce you some main types and maybe next time when you go to match a pair of glasses, you can choose the right one according to the lenses.

We can divide the lenses approximately into five types: the anti-reflection protection lens, the colored lens, the tintage lens, the polarized lens and the color deterioration lens. Here I will tell you some main information about them.

1.The anti-reflection lens. There is a light layer of magnesium fluoride spread on the lenses’ surface in order to prevent the reflection of the strong light so you will see the things clearly without the distribution of strong light. If you want to examine whether your eyeglasses have used the anti-reflection protection lenses, you may point your eyeglasses at the source of light. If you can see the reflection of purple and green light, that is to say that your lenses have spread the anti-reflection protection film.

2.The colored lens. Such lenses are also called the staining lenses. That means during the process of manufacturing, some chemical substance is added into the lenses so as to let the lenses present some colors. With this facture, the lenses can absorb the light with specific wave length. Generally such lenses are widely used in the sunglasses.

3.The tintage lens. The effect of this type is similar to the colored lens. There is only one thing different that is the manufacture. The making way of this lens is to spread the color on the surface of the lens. The most familiar one to people is the “gradually level-like tintage lens”. The deepest part is above and it will gradually become shallow downward. Usually the sunglasses with degrees use this kind of lens.

4.The polarized lens. In order to filter the dazzling light, people have added some special coating on the surface of the lenses in the vertical direction. And this kind is the polarized lens. Such lenses are most suitable to the outdoor sports such as the ski or fishing.

5.The color deterioration lens. Some people also call it the photosensitive lens. The silver halide has been joined on the surface and this let the lenses become into the color deterioration lenses when meeting with the strong light. This type of lens is suitable both indoor and outdoor.
